Back Pain & Sciatica

FREE REPORT: “14 Ways to Quickly Ease Back Pain without Relying on Pain Killers or Having to Call Your Doctor!”

Learn 14 different ways to ease back pain…even if you’ve suffered for months or years, and your doctor has told you nothing can be done!

Luke Gordon, DPT

A quick message from Dr. Luke Gordon, Spokane Valley’s leading PT, about dealing with back pain:

This free report is intended for the person suffering from the torment of lower back pain and possibly even sciatica (pain shooting into the buttocks and down the leg).

For many people, they’ve been dealing with their pain for several months, and often times even years. Along the way, most have tried dealing with their back pain with generic advice, which has let them down.

Let’s take a look at some of this poor advice…

Often times, people with back pain visit their doctor in search of pain relief, and they get the standard advice: “take it easy for a week or so and take some pain medications if your pain is too bad.”

If you’ve suffered with back pain, you probably already know that this approach rarely (almost never) works. Resting your back won’t typically fix what’s causing the pain, and pain medications only mask the pain, again without fixing the underlying cause.

What happens when rest and pain killers don’t fix the pain? For many, this is where they get introduced to the idea of injections or surgery. Or maybe they get introduced to this dangerous idea: that they just need to learn to live with the pain!

Poor advice often comes from Google and YouTube as well…if you do a quick search for “back pain exercises” or “back pain stretches”, you’ll discover a million and one resources, all designed to help you eliminate your pain quickly and easily.

There are a couple key problems with the free advice you’ll often find online: First, without truly understanding the root cause of your pain (such as a bulging disc, degenerative joint disease, degenerative disc disease, or sacro-iliac joint dysfunction), the “back pain exercises” you attempt might just make your back pain worse. This is because different exercises are used to treat types of pain…

For example, you might discover some back stretches that help relieve pain caused by a bulging disc. However, if your pain is caused by something “degenerative” (like stenosis, DJD or DDD), these back stretches will make you feel worse.

The other key problem with this advice is this: thinking that you can successfully eliminate your pain with exercises and stretches alone. While the proper back exercises and back stretches are an integral part to keeping your pain under control in the long-term, in the short-term, most people will require some “hands-on” treatment for optimal pain relief.

This is where many people will try chiropractic, massage therapy or even physical therapy treatment. And if they’re fortunate, they’ll experience some pain relief.

Unfortunately, most people will only experience temporary pain relief (for a variety of factors), and they’ll be stuck needing regular treatments.

So what really works for back pain relief? Here’s the bottom line for eliminating back pain for good: you must work with a therapist who can help you figure out the ROOT CAUSE of your pain and who can then guide you through the process of treating the cause of your pain.

At Gordon PT, we follow the “3 Phases of Healing” when helping our clients experience lasting pain relief. In Phase 1, we focus on reducing pain and inflammation, primarily via “hands-on” treatment techniques. As pain starts to improve, we gradually transition into Phase 2, where we start to incorporate more back exercises and back stretches, which will help address the underlying cause of the pain.

Finally, in Phase 3, we’re shifting our focus to making sure our clients are able to achieve a full return to activity. This is where we help them with more demanding tasks, such as making sure they can take long walks, return to playing golf, or being able to get up and down from the ground to play with grandkids.

Ultimately, this is what our clients want: a reduction in back pain in order to return to an active, independent lifestyle.

In this free report about the 14 best kept secrets for eliminating low back pain, I’ve compiled my best tips and advice for starting to eliminate back pain immediately. As you read the report, please keep in mind that not all 14 tips are likely to help your specific type of back.

Rather, you’re likely to find 3-4 tips that really help you with your back pain, while other people (with different types of back pain) will benefit from other tips and advice.

So, if you’re ready to start the process of truly uncovering and treating the root cause of your back pain, but you’re not sure if working with one of our physical therapists is right for you, this free report is a great place for you to start. “I first came in for a discovery visit to determine cause of pain on the left hip. A week later, I pulled a muscle in the lower right back which went into spasms. Luke and Aram were both helpful and flexible in treating first the muscle spasms and then the hip pain. After a month both problems have subsided and I’m able to resume all my regular activities, including yoga, swimming, snow shoeing and skiing.”
